Leading with Clarity: Building a Culture of Assessment Literacy

Stiggins and Duke (2008) posit that school leaders with a sound foundation in assessment literacy are vital in improving student learning. Creating a culture of clarity begins with leadership that fosters assessment as an essential aspect of high-quality instruction (Chappius et al., 2017). In this session, leaders will explore the foundational elements of assessment literacy and how to lead school-wide efforts that promote clarity, consistency, and purpose in assessment practices.
