In this session, educators will gain valuable insights into how the standards alignment tools can enhance lesson planning and improve student outcomes in science education.

Session Objectives:

  • Vertical Alignment Collaboration: Analyze the vertical progression of science concepts across grades K-12 to understand how the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) scaffold student learning and help identify critical content for your grade band.
  • Grade/Content-Specific Collaboration: Use the standards alignment toolkit to plan for an upcoming lesson or unit with a focus on considering how the key concepts, experiences, and ideas of the standards align with the experiences of the students in your classroom.
